This is a small Amish bakery a little off the beaten path but very worth the trip! We stopped here on our way through for vacation and stopped again on our way home! We bought cinnamon rolls, granola, maple syrup and jam! Every thing was excellent! And the prices make it worth the slight detour! Highly recommend stopping in and picking up some baked goods, along with their jam. So yummy

We drove all the way from Macomb County for this place and it was all we could've asked for! Inexpensive high quality baked goods. Sure it's in the back of someone's home but there was a line out the door (only allowing 2 guests in at a time). We bought banana bread, pumpkin bread, an entire tray of cinnamon rolls ($4!) and some Whoopie pies. Placed an order for shoo fly pie. We did call ahead so they do have a working phone. Highly recommend!!

This Place is Absolutely Amazing. Come From Gladwin, every week. Worth the Drive. Everything, is Delicious, but Our Favorite, are the Donuts. They Literally Melt in Your Mouth. The Pies and Apple Butter, are also, Yummy. And Whoopie Pies. I could go on. Bob the Owner is Very Hospitable, if You can Catch Him Coming in to Bring More Stock. The Cashier, Esther, is A Sweetheart. And the Place is Incredibly Clean. And Priced Well.

It may look shady being sold out of the back of a house, but this Amish bakery is the real deal when it comes to homemade baked goods. As Megan K. mentions, they are kind people and they do it old school without electricity. They don't have a phone either, as it turned out when we asked about jam, but the friendly guy gave us good verbal directions to another Amish home a few miles away. Lo and behold, they did have the jam we were looking for. Excellent service and low prices for top quality goods. If you didn't pick up on the "no electricity" part, let me remind you that they can't take cards; it is cash and check ONLY.

Just a little place! It looks like they converted their entry way into a small shop! I bought a whole thing of cinnamon rolls for 3.75! It's amazing how they do everything without electricity. I suggested we find an Amish bakery after my friend saw the pumpkin rolls at Cops and Doughnuts for 9.00. She found one here for half the price! The man working was very sweet, he seemed genuinely interested in knowing a little about us! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

This Amish business is our go-to bakery for our "daily bread," pies, quick breads and other baked items. It is WELL worth the effort to drive into the countryside to visit. The bakery sells about a half-dozen types of sandwich bread -- no crusty artisanal stuff here -- with flavors including white, whole wheat, wholegrain, garlic-dill and jalapeno-cheese. We just love them. Sweet offerings include a wide assortment of pies -- perennial favorites like cherry, apple, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry-rhubarb, peach and the like, plus occasional surprises like rhubarb custard -- plus fried pies (in just about every regular pie flavor), plus whoopie pies, traditional chocolate plus variations like oatmeal and pumpkin. You can also find angel food cakes, apple-dapple cake, pineapple-nut cake and cinnamon rolls. As a bonus, you can also usually buy an assortment of regular and sugar-free homemade jams and jellies, homemade egg noodles, and local maple syrup. AND there are usually quilts and quilted household items, baskets and other Amish goods made by other families in the community for sale on premises. Bob and Mable, the owners, are wonderful. We just love this place. One caveat: The store is closed on Thursdays, which is traditionally a wedding/family event day in the Amish community, and on Sundays. And the bakery is closed for the season between Thanksgiving and mid-April. If you are in the area mid-April-November, do make the bakery a stop...enjoy the gorgeous flower garden, too.
